AUGUST - SEPTEMBER 2026

Open Call for Solo or Duo Shows

Art Therapy Gallery is opening two-week slots in our main gallery on Paros this summer, and we are inviting artists from the globe to apply.

The space

A 75 m² ground-floor room on the main street of Arxiloxou, Paros. One large display wall, two big doors that open onto the street, and excellent natural light through most of the day. It suits wall work — paintings, photography, textile, prints — and floor work — sculpture, ceramics, installation, objects — equally well.

The opening night

We host the opening party. Wine, music, and the night itself. It is built around the gallery's mailing list of more than 3,000 contacts — Paros and Antiparos homeowners, regular collectors, art buyers, and the wider community around the gallery. We run an opening like this for every show. It is the single strongest moment we have for putting an artist in front of the people who buy.

Promotion across the two weeks

Beyond the opening. We also have a second location in the busiest part of Naoussa, the most heavily visited part of the island in summer. During your two weeks, we install a banner at the Naoussa location pointing visitors to the main gallery and your show, and we route as much of the August and September foot traffic as we can to you.

Curation

We work with you during install. We help with the layout in the space, with lighting, and with the hang.

What we ask

The participation fee

€4,000 per show. A flat fee that covers the gallery's costs for hosting you: the opening night, wine and music, the PR mailing, the Naoussa banner, curation support, and the use of the space for two weeks.

Paid in two parts:

  • 50% (€2,000) on acceptance. Due within seven days of our offer.
  • 50% (€2,000) at the start of curation. Due before the install conversation

Solo or duo

You can apply alone, or with one other artist as a self-formed duo. If you apply as a duo, the €4,000 splits between you — €2,000 each — and you divide the room: one of you takes the walls, the other takes the floor.

Duos apply together, with a shared statement on how the two bodies of work relate. We do not pair solo applicants.

Commission on sales

We take 35% commission on any works sold during the show. Our standard gallery commission is 50%; the lower rate here is part of the trade in exchange for the participation fee. We promote the exhibition the best we can. We do not promise sales — no serious gallery does — but we do everything we can to put real buyers in front of real work.

If a collector we introduce during the show completes a purchase within four weeks of de-install, the same 35% commission applies. After four weeks, no further commission on works we exhibited.

What you cover

  • The works themselves.
  • Travel to and from Paros.
  • Shipping in and out.

The fine print

We strongly recommend insuring your own works for the duration of transit and the exhibition. We are happy to introduce you to local insurers if useful.
