Daniel Verstraete

is a self-taught french sculptor (born 1945)  who practices direct carving mainly on marble blocks of Paros island.

He creates shapes at the limit between abstract and figurative, that make up a strange imaginary powerful bestiary and draws bronzes from some of these marble blocks whose patinas exalt the work of the material.

He has participated in many art and sculptures exhibitions  since 2011 in France, Luxemburg, Greece and Monaco and some of them are in private collections in France, Spain, Luxemburg, Swiss and Greece and he is president of a group of French artists, "L'Atelier du Lundi", created in Grasse almost 40 years ago.
