Katerina Papazissi

Katerina Papazissi is an artist based in Athens, Greece. Her studio practice is rooted in painting and expands to sculpture and installation. It addresses corporeality as the site of interconnectedness, transformation, and the
reclaiming of narratives.
Recent solo exhibitions include A Dancefloor of One’s Οwn, Ileana Tounta Contemporary Arts Center, 2024, and But today it is different, Athens Municipality Cultural Center, 2022, curated by Christoforos Marinos. Notable group exhibitions: A Rave Down Below, as part of 2023Eleusis-European Cultural Capital, curated by Panos Giannikopoulos, and Lavreotiki Land, Lavrion Technological Park, 2023. The group project she co-curated in her house- listed for demolition (Plastira 16, Disposable Gallery, 2006 ), represented Greece in the Biennale of Young Artists, Puglia, 2008. She was a resident of Monson Arts, Maine, in November 2023 and participated with a scholarship in Oxbow’s Conversations in Practice in 2022. Papazissi holds a BA, Integrated MA, in Painting from the Athens School of Fine Arts, an MA in Design Studies from Central Saint Martin's College, London, a BSc in Social Psychology and an MSc in Media and Communications from the London School of Economics. Her deep involvement in contemporary dance, yoga and
other somatic practices further shapes her contemporary practice.
